Nothing to collect.
Last updated 2 October 2026
The short version: Labnest doesn't collect, store or sell anything about you. It has no account and no servers of its own. It talks to the services you add, and to a short list of other places described below, only to do what you ask.
What stays on your iPhone
- Your services: their names and addresses are saved on your iPhone.
- Keys, tokens and passwords: kept in the iPhone's Keychain, on this device only. They aren't synced to iCloud or anywhere else.
- Your settings, notes, favorites and history: saved on your iPhone. Labnest's widgets and Apple Watch app read a summary of them on your devices.
What Labnest connects to
- The services you add. Sonarr, Plex, Home Assistant and the rest, at the addresses you give, at home or remotely (for example over Tailscale). This is the whole point of the app.
- App icons from the public dashboard-icons collection on the jsDelivr CDN (
cdn.jsdelivr.net). Labnest asks for an icon by an app's name, like "sonarr". You can turn this off in Settings › Icons and names. - Plex (
plex.tv), only if you use "Sign in with Plex", to link Labnest to your Plex account with a code. Labnest never sees your Plex password. - TMDB images (
image.tmdb.org), for posters on the Discover and request pages, which come from your Overseerr or Jellyseerr.
These requests carry what's needed to answer them, like which icon or poster, and, as with any internet request, your network address. None of them carry your keys, your services' addresses or anything you've typed.
A remote viewer's location on a stream's details page comes from your own Tautulli server. Labnest never sends anyone's IP address to a lookup service.
Things you choose to share
- Backups are a single file holding your services, keys and settings, encrypted with a passphrase you choose. Labnest can't read one without the passphrase, and neither can anyone else.
- Household invites are encrypted the same way, with a 6-digit code. They contain only the services you pick.
- Feedback you send can include a diagnostics report. You see it before sending, and it's tidied first: addresses, names and keys are removed.
- Docs you share as Markdown can leave out addresses. Keys and passwords are never in them.
Apple
If you've allowed it in your iPhone's settings, Apple may share crash reports and usage data from Labnest with the developer. These are anonymous and handled by Apple under its own privacy policy. In TestFlight, feedback and screenshots you send go through Apple to the developer.
Children
Labnest isn't aimed at children and doesn't knowingly collect anything from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date. Labnest will never start collecting your data without saying so here first.
